Bright Star

Reflecting a light from within

Bright Star can be for a new graduate or teacher, or a congratulatory gift to a friend or child; she can be a sparkly angel for the Nativity at Christmas time. Her star can reflect the shining personality or inner beauty of the receiver.

When I was young a neighbor gave me Angel of the Heart. I thought it was so beautiful and have kept it ever since. I  found out what it meant recently, "For those who love and are loved." My heart melted upon the discovery. I love how Willow Tree sculptures each have a meaning. I got Bright Star for my birthday and loved recieving the message it meant, "Reflecting a light from within." I dream of one day having a bigger collection of but until then I'll hold the two I have dear.

I am the author of an unfinished/unpublished hymnbook, which speaks softly, gently, poetically of all that comes to us from God, in the Holy Lovelight. My friend knows that I am drawn to the light and, having read many of my hymns, she has commented on "the light within me."  My friend gave me "Bright Star" because of the Bright Star caption, "Reflecting a light from within." I'm humbled, knowing that my friend understands my work so well, and I am humbled in receiving her very thoughtful gift.

I met my husband when we were still in school. At the time he was known by everyone, including his teachers, as Starry because of his interest in Astronomy. As the years passed I became the only person who still used that nickname. My husband died last June, two months before our 40th wedding anniversary. My angel stands next to a picture of my husband protecting him until we meet again.

I received Bright Star from my sister after another sister passed away.  She resembles where and what my sister is now-- a Bright Star who still shines in our lives.

My mom gave me Bright Star when I walked off the stage from my last performance of the 8th show I've been in. I really want to be on Broadway and my mom said the second she saw Bright Star she thought of me because I'm her bright star, that's when I knew my mom truly supported my dream.

I recieved the Bright Star Willow Tree Angel after my 8th grade graduation. This angel is especially fitting because one of the awards I won was the Stargirl Award. This award was given to me for my "kindness, individuality, and self-confidence."
