My father passed away May 26th, 2011, after a two year fight with ALS, Lou Gehrig's Disease. It has been a tough two years without him. I miss him that much more. This year has been very difficult: Fathers day, Thanksgiving and now Christmas without him.
My mother gave me this item for Christmas. I love it. Having a son of my own, it reminds me how important it is to be a great father, because I had one.
My husband and I both have a Willow Tree. I have Mother and Son and my husband has Father and Son. Our journey to parenthood was difficult. Because I have a heart condition my body finds pregnancy difficult. We lost our first child at 2 months. I was very frightened but also excited when I became pregnant with our son Robert. I had a hellish pregnancy including episodes of bleeding, liver and kidney issues, migranes, excess saliva, high blood pressure, reduction of vision and severe morning sickness. Robert is our one and only child, as I cannot carry another. Our Willow Tree figurines remind us of our glorious gift and how blessed we are every morning and every night. Thank you so much.
On June 5th of this year our 15 year old son, Wade, took his life. We have been given the Father/Son & Mother/Son figurines and they sit on either side of a picture of him. Remembrance and Healing Angels sit with other angels I already had in a window. Just looking at them brings me comfort. Their simplicity and purity are beautiful, and the love and support that has been shown to us is symbolized in them. Our lives are changed forever and the angels & figurines remind us of the love we shared and the kind, caring person that he was. Thank you for creating them Susan

I instantly fell in love with your entire collection but this one really struck a chord with me most. It is so tender and loving and I know that my husband will well up with tears when I give it to him. I also couldn't resist piecing our family together for an early Christmas present. I keep finding excuses to get more! Thankyou!
When I was pregnant with my first child, my mom gave me the pregnant woman figurine, and I fell in love with it. Five months after my son was born, I became pregnant again (a surprise!), but sadly had a miscarriage at ten weeks. My husband and I purchased this to sit on our mantle next to my first Willow Tree and remind us of our lost little angel. We have since had another beautiful boy, so we added "Quietly" to our collection, as well as the Father and Son and Mother and son statues. We also purchased You're the Best! for my son's developmental therapist to thank her for making such a huge difference in my son's life.
My father, a decorated US Air Force pilot who retired after 20 years of service, passed away on Independence Day! How appropriate! The week before he died, he had spoken of our Mom coming each evening to dance with him,and that he had realized that she no longer wore her oxygen. He used to carry it for her while they danced! His aide asked him if he knew what day Monday was, usually getting a wrong holiday because of multiple strokes since August. But he answered, "Of course! It's MY Independence Day!" I love the girl holding the flag, but left it home. I did place the Father and Daughter on the table at his Memorial Service. He donated his body to science, as did our Mom 3 years ago. I used several Willow Tree's at her service as well. On the way home from Texas we stopped at a Mardels and I walked in to see the "My Girls" Willow Tree! Whew! It hit me in the face so that I had to catch my breath. I went back and got it of course, and I plan to get one for my sister. Now we need Father and Son, for my 3 boys and my 3 brothers! Thank you! The timing was great!
I have been collecting the Willow Tree figurines and memory boxes. I now have Anniversy, Together, Father and Daughter, Father and Son, Sister and Brother, and Brother and Sister. I have been collecting them since I lost my husband very suddenly last year. It is a way to keep him in my thoughts. My daughter has Father and Daughter also. She says it reminds her of her father.
I've always loved your figurines. I have received them as gifts and have given them many times. My son, David, passed away in November, and for Christmas my daughter, husband and I gifted each other with a symbolic figurine, expressing the love of a son and brother. I have them now surrounding his picture on a table with a candle, and it looks so peaceful and serene. I thank you for your comforting artwork. God bless you.
My husband first noticed your "Father and Son" pieces at our local Hallmark store while we were shopping for another occasion. It was obvious he really liked them.
When Father's Day rolled around a month later, I gave my 11 yr. old son some money and told him to go to the store with this grandmother to buy a card and gift for his father.
He went back to the Hallmark store and was torn between the "New Dad" piece and the "Father and Son" piece. He only had enough money for one piece but really felt he needed to get both to express his feelings for his dad. He debated for quite some time over why he should get each one. After bringing his grandma and the store owner to tears, he managed to purchase both pieces.
Not only did the pieces touch my husband, but the sentiments they brought out in our son, touched the feelings of our entire family and the shopkeeper. This story is one to be remembered and repeated as we cherish your tender works of art. Thank you.
Sidenote: My son was offered a job by the store owner when he is of working age!
My Son grew up without his Father and now is a father himself.
He takes great pride in being the kind of father he always wanted, and the Father and Son figurine is the perfect gift for him and his son to share and enjoy.
It gave me great pride and pleasure to give it to them and brought us all to tears as they opened it!
Thank you so much for sharing your talent with the world!
This figurine is so symbolic of my son and I. He is my little shadow...looks like me, acts like me, and wants nothing more than to be just like daddy. The pose is perfect! Love it!
