My husband and I were given a very special Christmas gift from our son and daughter-in-law when we were given grandmother and grandfather figurines thus telling us that we are going to be grandparents for the first time.
It was a very special gift and a wonderful way to learn that there is going to be a grandchild in our lives. We are so excited and counting the days.
I recieved this wonderfull gift from my special grandsons It was their gift to me for Christmas. I was overwhelmed when i opened it. It makes a grandmother's heart proud.
Last Christmas I recieved my very first Willow Tree as a gift from my daughter. She gave me the Mother and Daughter figurine. This year my son gave me the Mother and Son. Then he handed me another one with a grandmother and grandchild! He tells me congratulations Mom you are going to have a grandson! Oh my, tears filled my eyes with joy over the ones from my children and flooded my face with laughter when I was told by your beautiful creation I was going to be a grandmother for the first time! Thank you for making my Christmas so memorable two years in a row!! Merry Christmas, Theresa
I have several in my collection of Wllow Tree figurines, marking events in my life.
I have the Grandmother which I acquired when my grandmother turned 90. She died that year. I got Cherish when I worked at an OB/GYN clinic. I have Mother and Daughter for when my daughter graduated high school. I hope to get this one to mark my marriage to the most wonderful man on earth.
Today, 26/09/2011 I am celebrating my 50th birthday. I received my first Willow Tree, "Grandmother," from my gorgeous two-year-old granddaughter Lily. This is a lovely gift to treasure.
Our son and daughter-in-law had our first grandchild in Nov. 2009. And we received the grandfather and grandmother figures for Christmas. We couldnt have received a more meaningful gift. They sit on our entertainment center in front of our granddaughter's photo.
I love the Willow Tree figures. My aunt gave me one when my mother passed away. My son & daughter-in-law are expecting my first grandchild, and my son gave me the Grandmother figurine for Christmas. I just love it.
On my son's very first Mother's Day I bought the Grandmother figurine for my mum. This Christmas my mother surprised me with my very own figurine, Child of my Heart. As a single mother with a two-year-old son this figurine is perfect, as it reminds me that even though it is just my son and myself, together we are family. From my family of two to yours, thank you for making such wonderful figurines and allowing us to express what is in our hearts in a way which we never could ourselves.
My sister and I gave my daughter the Nativity and all the pieces. My sister bought me Sisters by Heart, Generations, and this Christmas she gave me Grandmother, and With My Grandmother. I know of no other artist who can capture the true essence of love the way you can. I have been blessed with two beautiful granddaughters, and I want to thank you for giving me a reminder of how lucky I am. I have given my son-in-law some as well, and he really likes them. God bless.
I gave my mom the Grandmother figurine as a surprise after I found out I was pregnant with her first grandchild. Throughout my pregnancy, both my husband and my mom would give me the Willow Tree figurines as gifts because I had fallen in love with the collection. So one day, I surprised her with her own figurine -- the Grandmother, and when she opened her giftbag, the expression on her face and the tears were enough to say that she fell in love with the gift.
My son and his wife came over for supper one Sunday evening. He brought me a brown paper bag and said that here is some of my stuff he was returning. As I looked in the bag and took some items out here was this Willow Tree figurine. I took it out of the bag and saw that is was a Grandmother and Baby. I was so excited! You see, they were telling me they were having their first baby. Therefore I was having my first grandchild! I will treasure that.
I became a first time grandmother at 43. We live in different states, me in Florida, and baby Julia in North Carolina.
So I have seen her only once, at the tender age of 10 months old. She is almost 2 yrs old now, and I miss her every day.
My sister in law Susan gave me a very special gift- the Willow Tree Grandmother, when Julia had her 1st Christmas. I love that figurine and it sits on a special little shelf in my home.
