Titles of individual pieces signify universal attributes that we wish for all our children.
These figures are ideally displayed in the Reliquary – a special “place” designed to position figures so that they reflect sibling relationships and express unique personalities.
Or group with other figures to reflect relationships between parents and children, siblings, grandparents and grandchildren… any and all types of families.
This piece absolutely symbolizes my cousin Moriah, who is incredibly close to me. When "Joyful Child" is paired with "Inquisitive Child," its like seeing Moriah and myself as children again. We both have one, to remind us of the other.
Thank you Susan, for allowing me to be able to always have a connection with my cousin, no matter how far we live from each other.
I am the mother of seven children. This past Mother's Day was possibly the last one in which I would have all of my children together, as our oldest son is in the Army and will soon be serving in Afghanistan. My children range in age from 3 to 21.. so each of them chose their own Willow Tree figurine that represents them. It was a wonderful gift and I have them all displayed in my room where they are the first thing I see each day. It is amazing that each figurine chosen... truly expresses each of my children. From the positions they sit, the elbow on a knee, things just like my own children. I will treasure these forever!
