Kindness (boy)

Above all, kindness

I really like the simplicity and truth of this sentiment, Above all, kindness. Kindness is a virtue that gives us so much reward, and one we aspire to. The animal that the child holds can be metaphorical (who better to teach us about kindness than animals?) or the figure can simply represent a loving relationship with a pet.

My wife got me the figurine of a boy on his knees holding his dog while the dog licks the boy's face. This brought back a lot of memories for me as I had a dog and best friend for 17 years. He slept on my bed every night and the hardest thing I've ever had to do was look into his eyes and say goodbye. I keep this figurine on my desk and look at it every day...it touches my heart. Thank you!

I purchased this piece for my collection in memory of my 14 year old dog that I recently had to put to sleep due to her failing health. I purchased the boy becasue I have a son that is 12 years old and when he was born, my "baby girl" at the time was jealous. Through the years my son tried his best to be her friend.  She will always be like my first child.
