Shortly after my grandaughter began Kindergarten, I had the pleasure of meeting her at the schoolbus. As she got off the bus, clung open to her chest, was her first library book, which she had been reading on the ride home. I had recently seen the Love of Learning statue in a flyer for Family Christian Book Stores, where I purchased it the next day. I am anxiously waiting to see her expression when she opens it Christmas morning. I pray her love of reading and learning never wanes. This lovely statue will be forever a reminder to me of that day!
Willow Tree drew my interest the first time I ever saw it several years ago. The figures and their messages draw from the feelings I have in my own heart when I give one to those people close to my heart. Today I bought "Love of Learning" for a very dear boss whom I have had the pleasure of being able to call my friend. We developed a special working relationship and a friendship blossomed as well. Our friendship is very special you see because we have never met in person. She is on the East coast and I am in Texas. She is a very special lady and one who will always hold a Special place in my heart. Her name is Zinnie.
My story began with Wisdom. I fell in love with Willow Tree and fawned over the figurines in our local gift shop. My favorites list grew and grew and I am beginning a collection. I now have Heart and Soul, Love of Learning and Friendship added to my Wisdom piece. I hope to acquire them for as long as I can. They give me peace and joy just to gaze at one. Thank you, Susan, for your beautiful creations.
My Mum gave Love of Learning to me because as a child I spent my life with my head in a book. Now I'm in my twenties, and not much has changed :).
