Sisters by Heart

Celebrating a treasured friendship of sharing and understanding

I'm very close to my sisters, and the friendship and support of other women has always enriched my life. I also realize that there are friends or other relatives that may not be blood sisters, but share this same type of closeness.

I never took much interest in figurines, until these were my gifts for me moving to university. My mother bought me 'Close to me' and my sister gave me 'Sisters by heart.' My family said it was a symbol of their love and how close we will always be no matter where I am in the world. My mother and I gave the same two figurines to my sister when she also left home for university, giving her the same message. I am now on the hunt for the perfect figurine for my mother from my sister and mr. They are truly beautiful.

I was given 'Heart and Soul', by a very dear friend of mine who lives in a different country. It was the first time I had seen Willow Tree and I immediately loved it. I have now decided to add to my piece and have a collection. I have just bought 'Promise' as I love the sentiment and it is our 15th wedding anniversary, so I feel it apt. From now on I'm going to get a piece at every opportunity. I also give Willow Tree as gifts. For my sister's 40th birthday recently I gave her Sisters by Heart. I can't wait to begin my collection.

My sister had been giving me Willow Tree figures for quite awhile. When shopping for Christmas I found "Sisters by Heart" and knew my sis would love this. I'd already bought her another Willow Tree figure, but her birthday was in January, so I bought it for her birthday. I enclosed the gift in her Christmas box and sent it off. On Christmas morning I eagerly opened the gift from my sister to me, and it was "Sisters by Heart." In January, she opened her gift of "Sisters By Heart." We agreed we have always been close in heart and it shows because we purchased the same gift at the same time for each other.

One of my best friends when we were children and I were reunited through Facebook. Over the last couple of years we have gotten close all over again! I had a long layover during a flight and she met me. She showed me a picture of a Holly Hobby figurine I had given her when we were little. Then she presented me with "Sisters by Heart." It is my first Willow Tree figure even though I have admired the collection for years. Thank you for helping us share a very special time together.

My long time friend has just given me my first Willow Tree piece (which brought a tear to my eye when I opened it), Sisters by Heart, for my 45th birthday. On the gift tag was a message which read "Have a Happy Birthday, Thank you for all our years of friendship. This gift commemorates our friendship, with lots of love." We met by chance 29 years ago at the age of 16 and have been friends ever since. We both have been through tough and trying times along the way, and although we no longer meet up on a regular basis we are always there for each other no matter what. After finding the invitation within the packaging to visit the website and share stories, I thought it would be a nice touch and a way to say Thank You for such a beautiful gift and our friendship.

I've always said my sister and I should have been twins! Although we are 15 months apart, we are so much alike--we think alike and act alike. Yes, we're sisters, but we are very close. She is my best friend, my shoulder, my Sister. She sent me this figurine after going through the death of my 26 yr old son, and her nephew. It meant so much to me and it actually made me know how much my sister loves me. She stood at my side every step of the way and continues to be my hero now as I go through chemotherapy. I love her very much, her name is Beatrice!

When my fiance was hospitalized and had to have surgery I gave him the Angel of Healing. I also bought Mother and Son for my adult son. I bought Promise because it depicted the love my fiance and I had for each other.
I also bought Sisters by Heart because it reminds me of my two daughters when they were little. My son purchased the Mother and Son for me as a Mother's Day gift this May. He said it shows what he feels for his mother. Of course I had some tears rolling down my cheeks. Thank you for the beauty and the heartfelt feeling that Willow Tree depicts.

I saw this while browsing your website. My best friend and I talk like this whenever we're able to get together. I had to change schools, so we don't see each other as often as we'd like. I sent this to her as an e-card (I'm planning on getting it for her!), thinking of all those conversations about crushes, death, love, happiness, and God. I'm so glad He's blessed you with such a powerful talent.

I was sent a 'Sister By Heart' Willow Tree piece from my best friend who lives in Scotland. My family left Scotland two and a half years ago to move to Australia. While opening the box I could barely contain my tears as the piece was so meaningful. It represented us. The way the sisters heads were situated and their hands joined reminded me of our last goodbye. Though we are best friends, life takes its toll and we do not speak very often during our university semesters.

When we did talk she pointed out that we were 'Sisters By Heart' and that when she saw the piece she had to send it. She even pointed out which one was her and which one was me. The piece represents the distance between us and the bonds that will never break.

It's the most meaningful present I received this year for my 18th birthday. It is proudly displayed along with three other Willow Tree pieces.

I bought this for my Sister. We are not blood related but it does not matter. She is my rock and my strength. She is always looking out for me and making sure I'm safe and loved. She is the best big sister anybody can have. Even though we live far apart I always know she is right there with me, making sure I do the right thing.

When my sister Cheryl passed away from ovarian cancer a dear friend gave me the "Sisters By Heart." I keep them on my kitchen window sill and love to look at these precious figures. We have a second home in Florida and I bought a second set of "Sisters By Heart" to bring to Florida. That way I have this special remembrance of my dear sister every day. I miss her dearly.

My sister and I gave my daughter the Nativity and all the pieces.  My sister bought me Sisters by Heart, Generations, and this Christmas she gave me Grandmother, and With My Grandmother. I know of no other artist who can capture the true essence of love the way you can.  I have been blessed with two beautiful granddaughters, and I want to thank you for giving me a reminder of how lucky I am.  I have given my son-in-law some as well, and he really likes them.  God bless.

My cousin and I weren't always close when i was little, but as i started to grow up I realized that she was more like me than I thought. We sometimes have the same exact thought and we would say the same thing at the same exact time. She once sent me a message saying I was the sister she should have had, and that she never wanted me to be depressed or to hurt. She was the sister I always wanted but got a cousin instead.  I consider her to be a person I can turn to if I have problems and some times need to talk. It seems as if she is the only one that actually understands. For Christmas this year she got me the Sisters by Heart, and with the one figure embracing the others hands, it's like my cousin embracing my hands. I can always count on her for what I need, and I'm so truly grateful that she got this for me.  It shows how much closer we are.

I met my best friend Jeanette! She is the best person I have ever known in my life! She made me who I am today. I will never forget what she has done for me. My Mom kicked me out when I was 16 and Jeanette and her family took me in. We had the warmest bed and room in the house!

My sister lost her 16 year old daughter in a car accident. The loss is beyond words. But she's making it day by day with the help of family and many friends. My sister gave me Sisters by Heart, because we've been through the worst together. We remain sisters not just by blood, but by heart. Please pray for all who've lost a child.

I lost my best friend in October to a very short, two week illness with cancer. She was only 39 years old. She was a dear friend, colleague and sister. While in a craft store, I came across "Sisters by Heart"."I felt an immediate connection to my dear friend. As I look at it daily, trying to deal with the loss, it reminds me of the wonderful times we had together. Thank you.

I have a very special friend, Karen. We are very close in our hearts, but far away in distance. This morning she sent me "Sisters by Heart." I have several other Willow Tree figures - but these two will always be so special to me. They are a constant reminder that distance cannot ever break the bond between us. Karen - you will be in my heart forever.

My very first Willow Tree was the Sisters by Heart. As I sat by my sister, giving her support at a time when her husband was sick and soon to pass away, there were no words. The Sisters by Heart, without faces,  spoke volumes. I am here, I am beside you, I give you my support through my heart.

This piece was given to me by my sister.  We are best friends and for me, when I received this for my birthday there was no need for words.  It said it all!

A wonderful creation, thank you

My dearest friend sent Sisters by Heart to me for my birthday this year. It was only a few weeks after my mother passed away. We have been friends for 30 years. She has been there for me through our teenage years, marriage, birth of our children, and we have even had to deal with sickness and death of loved ones. I love her like a sister. Willow Tree captures something so precious with something so simple.

My best friend started my collection for me with "Sisters by Heart", and each piece she's given me is a treasure because they have meaning to both of us. The newest one that's been added is "Angel of Miracles" because I am the survivor of a brain aneurysm, and she is my reminder of life's everyday miracles. Thank you for a beautiful way to express what words cannot.

The year was 1987. Our nine-year-old son had just had his ear drums replaced at the University of Iowa Hospital. As I walked into his room I saw this Angel caring for her cystic fibrosis son. If I remember correctly she and her son had been there for months with no car - her care for him was constant. For two days I watched her patiently wait til he finished his meal - only to eat what remained. She never complained the entire time I was there.

I will never forget her telling me that she had a six-month-old baby girl at home - also with cystic fibrosis - and how sad she was that she would never become a grandma.
Nathaniel passed away on October 23, 1998.
His sister Ashley Elizabeth is a recent college graduate; married to a wonderful guy named Mark; and is teaching vocal music.

Linda and I have been remained friends since those days in 1987. We haven't seen each other (we live too far apart) but we communicate frequently.

I just received not only "Surrounded by Love" but "Sisters by Heart" for my birthday/Mother's day. Nothing could mean more to me because we have "a treasured frienship of sharing and understanding."

Linda, I hope when you read this you will know just how much I cherish our friendship and just how much I will cherish the Willow Trees that you sent! You mean the world to me!!

I was given my first figurine, Angel of Mine, for my birthday, right after my son was born. I love it because even though it has no face, you can still see affection and love. Since then I have recieved more. After my grandmother passed away, I got her the Comfort plaque. As a Christmas gift, I got Sisters by Heart and for my first wedding anniversary I recieved Promise from my husband. I continue to love these figurines. The warmth that comes from them, and the love that came from the people who gave them to me are never forgotten. I now want to get some of the family oriented ones for my husband and myself, and I continue to give them as gifts. They are a great ways to send love without words.

In August 2009 I found out I had a sister who is 10 years older than me, a daughter that my mom had given up for adoption 55 years ago. When we met for the first time one month later, she gave me the most beautiful gift of the "Chrysalis." I have been giving Willow Tree figures to special people ever since, the first of which was to give my sister the "Sisters by Heart" figurine. I have started a collection for myself and my two daughters ages seven and twelve, because they have so much meaning to me!

My best friend and have been best friends for 18 years. She is and was always there for me through thick and thin. I introduce her as my adopted sister and her daughter as my adopted niece; my parents even introduce them in that way I love it. On Christmas 2009, my best friend and I exchanged gifts. I opened my gift and she opened her gift from me and the funniest most memorable thing we both bought each other the Sisters by Heart Willow Tree. She never heard of Willow Tree until my mom told her about them and her first purchase was the same as mine. I have my Sisters by Heart Willow Tree sitting next to my Willow Tree Nativity set. Oh what a memory!

I was always extremely close to my best friend Krista. We could look at each other and know exactly what one another were feeling or thinking. We could finish each others sentences most times and shared almost everything and every moment together. Krista was diagnosed with cancer when she was 17. We went through many ups and downs throughout her battle. I gave her the Sisters by Heart figurine during one of her stays in the hospital. It truly symbolizes our friendship. Though not related by blood she always and forever will be my sister. After a long and difficult battle she lost her life to the disease. I received the Sisters by Heart back. Every time I look at the figurine I get tears in my eyes remembering the most amazing connection and love I have ever had. She was an extremely loving, compassionate friend that lived her life with incredible passion and courage. She never gave up the fight even when it was close to the end. Thank you for your wonderful art that expresses so much meaning and thoughtfulness in the gifts I can share with others. It truly represents them and the milestones in their lives and my own.

After a year long battle with cancer, my sister-in-law passed away the day after Thanksgiving, 2009. I knew she had shopped for Christmas gifts for her grandchildren. I was surprised to see a gift from her to me. I was brought to tears when I opened this beautiful figurine. We were always friends, but now I knew that she thought of me as her sister.

During a family gathering, celebrating Christmas, 2009, my baby sister presented me with a gift. She was so excited, and insisted that I open it right away. Inside were the Sisters by Heart figurines, and my eyes welled up in tears, because I often wondered if she really knew and understood just how much I love her and how truly proud I am of her. The answer came in the form of this beautiful figurine, and the answer is YES!

My eldest sister and I have always been close. In 2006 we had a huge quarrel that separated us. I tried to make peace with her, but for six months I went about my life with no word from her. Then one day I received a package in the mail. When I opened it I was shocked to find the “Sisters by Heart” figurines with a letter from my sister. She asked me to forgive her for letting pride come between us, and requested that if I forgave her to mail back one of the figurines so that we would each have one to hold. I called her and we settled our differences. Now, when I look at that figurine I think about my sister and I know that we will always be “Sisters by Heart".

I moved away from my home country for a time, and found the distance and adjustment very difficult. I was away for my birthday. My sister bought me the Sisters by Heart ornament and had me take it away with me when I went, and told me that if I got too lonely I could open it early. I did. It was a huge comfort, I love it. I'm still away from home, and the ornament sits beside my bed. Sisters are amazing.
